Gilroy: If we played like that again we’d be out of race

Pat Gilroy applauded Laois, he pointed to the amount of chances Dublin created and praised his bench for the impact it made in that second-half, but this was yet another day that provided more questions than answers.

Gilroy: If we played like that again we’d be out of race

He admitted as much.

“We were expecting a tough game,” he began. “We said beforehand if we could win by two, three or four points, we’d be delighted. We expected Laois to close down a lot of the space which they did. They tackled very hard. We created a lot of good chances in the first-half and, if we’d taken them, we could have been a lot more comfortable. But we didn’t. We had to dig out the game in the second-half. It’s fair to say if we played like that again we’d be out of the championship.”
