“We did say in the immediate aftermath that it would be two to three weeks,” said Kettle, who wants Daly to remain on. “We’ll let this week go and after the Meath/Dublin match, I would see us making contact.
“One way or the other, we’ll need to meet him. If he’s not coming, and I hope he is coming, we’ll need to start looking. The longer you leave it, it’ll be harder to get someone.”
Kettle’s comments come when as many as 17 of Daly’s inter-county panellists are heading to the US to play hurling there in the coming weeks.
With the Dublin SH championship not resuming until September and some big clubs already out of the competition, they are availing of the break.
Meanwhile, the Leinster Council are predicting a crowd of 55,000 for Sunday’s Leinster SFC final.
