Joyce set to miss quarter-final

Christopher Joyce is all but certain to miss Cork’s All-Ireland quarter-final on Sunday week with a broken thumb.

Jimmy Barry-Murphy admitted the defender is unlikely to figure in the game.

“He’s a broken thumb and will be out for a minimum four weeks so won’t be available certainly for the quarter-finals.”

Joyce had been named to start against Wexford on Sunday but was replaced by William Egan.
