Déise board admits festival fundraiser suffered a loss

Waterford chairman Tom Cunningham admits it’s likely the board will incur a loss from their two-day Rhythmfest fundraiser in Fraher Field this past weekend.

An estimated crowd of 500 attended Saturday’s concert while less than 2,000 were believed to have taken in Jedward’s performance and those of other acts on Sunday.

For a county board with serious financial difficulties, it was a setback and Cunningham cited the poor weather as the reason for the disappointing turnout.
