Bullish Banty points to the Royal ‘We’

He talks like a man who wants to tell you with every syllable that he believed when no one else did. He sits and stays sitting in the media room under the Cusack Stand even though between the weight just lifted off of his shoulders and the joy bubbling up inside of him, he would be afforded the opportunity to stand tall and announce to one and all, ‘I told you so’.

Instead, Seamus McEnaney plays it calm, entertaining the press huddled around him, as they hang on every honest word and every turn of phrase. Not so long ago he was the one no one wanted to be friends with. Now he’s the cool kid in town but he’s not vindictive about the chasm between his past treatment and a newly-found perception.
