Cadogan’s dual role dilemma

Cork dual star Eoin Cadogan faces a difficult choice the weekend after next — the Leeside hurlers face Offaly on July 7 in Páirc Uí Chaoimh while the next day, July 8, the Cork footballers face Clare in the Munster SFC final.

Cadogan’s dual role dilemma

Cadogan lined out at centre-back for the Cork hurlers in their defeat to Tipperary on Sunday, while he also featured in the full-back line for the footballers in their win over Kerry on June 10.

During the league an arrangement was worked out by hurling boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy and football manager Conor Counihan to facilitate Cadogan playing both codes. However, the less predictable schedule of the qualifiers means potential clashes such as that coming up on Saturday week are more likely.
