No Browne but Déise start four debutants

Tony Browne is not included in Waterford’s starting side for Sunday’s Munster SHC semi-final clash with Clare.

Manager Michael Ryan’s selection features four championship debutants — goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe, defenders Stephen Daniels and Philip Mahony and corner-forward Gavin O’Brien.

It’s not the first time Browne has been a surprise omission from a Waterford team — in 2004 he withdrew from the Munster SHC clash with Waterford on the morning of the game but that was down to a leg injury.
