Creedon calls for change

Tipperary boss Peter Creedon has called for the introduction of a two-tiered All-Ireland SFC in order to assisting developing sides around the country.

Creedon calls for change

After seeing his charges succumb to Kerry for the third successive year at the Munster quarter-final stage at Semple Stadium yesterday, and now faced with the prospect of a five-week wait until the first round of the All-Ireland qualifiers, Creedon believes the system needs to be altered.

“I’d prefer an open draw. I’d prefer a two-tiered championship as well where the top 16 move on to the senior championship and the next 16 keep going in another championship. There’s too much money being pumped into GAA teams to have one or two games out.”
