Midleton had to withstand a strong Bishopstown second-half fightback before narrowly winning this hard-fought tie at Riverstown yesterday.

The Magpies got the boost of a goal from full forward Kieran Mulcahy after 14 minutes and, had they not shot nine wides in the first-half, would have been further than four points clear at the break.

Bishopstown got back on track through a fortuitous Kevin O’Driscoll goal, but will rue not capitalising on the scoreboard during the next 15 minutes when they dominated.
