Kerry boss rues loss of Buckley
Buckley’s decision was influenced by the prospect of a more limited coaching role after returning late to the set-up following a knee operation.
O’Sullivan said: “Donie will be a loss because he brought a lot of experience to the table and fresh ideas and was very popular among the players. However this year, he had an operation which meant he was late coming back and Alan O’Sullivan had a lot of work done with the lads so it was very difficult for Donie coming back.
“Jack O’Connor selects his backroom team and we as County Board support him and, hopefully, things will work out well for Kerry this year”
Meanwhile Sean Moynihan who led Spa to the All-Ireland Club IFC final in 2010 is set to be ratified as the new county junior football manager at tonight’s County Committee meeting.
