Hitman Sheridan bags two goals in Royal return
Sheridan displayed much of his old predatory instincts to ransack a Westmeath defence who found itdifficult to contain his height and movement. Just over a week since his return to Ireland from Boston, Sheridan looked eager to impress manager Seamus McEnaney and newly recruited John Evans.
Sheridan hit both goals in the second-half — the first an opener from close range, the second when he punched a Stephen Bray cross home. Sheridan also missed a first-half penalty, driving the ball low and hard but the wrong side of the post after Peadar Byrne was hauled down.
