Duffy defends Moroney’s Kildare appointment

GAA director general Páraic Duffy says Simon Moroney’s appointment as advisor to the Kildare County Board following their €300,000 advance from headquarters is to ensure they don’t fall into financial difficulties again in the short-term.

The former Munster secretary will oversee the Croke Park injection of much-needed funds into the county.

“We think it makes sense for someone like Simon to come into Kildare and look at how they do their business and put forward hopefully positive suggestions,” said Duffy.
