Star trio return as Kilkenny make changes for Banner clash

The Kilkenny team to play Clare in the Allianz Hurling League semi-final at Semple Stadium, Thurles, tomorrow at 2pm shows a number of positional and personnel changes from the side that defeated Galway in their last League outing.

Jackie Tyrrell is back having recovered from injury, while Richie Power, who was suspended for the Galway game, and John Mulhall are also included.

Missing through injury are Noel Hickey, Michael Rice, Paddy Hogan and Aidan Fogarty while Richie Hogan and Henry Shefflin continue their recoveries.

Dublin hurling boss Anthony Daly makes some positional and personnel changes for today’s Division 1A relegation play-off replay against Galway at Portlaoise.

Martin Quilty replaces the suspended Ryan O’Dwyer for Dublin, one of two changes in personnel made from the first game by manager Anthony Daly.

O’Dwyer got a straight red last weekend from referee Barry Kelly and Na Fianna man Quilty comes in at midfield, with David Treacy moving to centre-forward to fill O’Dwyer’s boots.

Rory Treanor drops to the bench to make way for Paul Schutte’s switch from wing-back to corner-back, with Michael Carton starting on the wing in his place.

Dublin U21 football manager, Jim Gavin, has given a vote of confidence to the same starting 15 that captured the Leinster title for today’s Cadbury All-Ireland U21FC semi-final against Cork in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise, which throws in at 2pm.

There are positional switches, however, with Danny Byrne at midfield alongside Emmet O Conghaile and Ciarán Reddin moving to wing-forward.
