St Michael’s reached the final on the back of a brilliant defensive unit, but the Enniskillen outfit could not cope with the attacking range of the Edenderry men.
The Ulster outfit spurned a glorious goalscoring opportunity after just 19 seconds, when Che Cullen dragged his shot wide from close range.
Cian McMonagle, Mark Nolan, Sean Doyle and Ger Leech punished that miss to help open up a six-point lead for the Offaly side and when Cian McMonagle goaled in the 18th minute, the Midlanders had one hand on the trophy.
Barry McAleer got a first point for St Michael’s in the 20th minute and doubled his tally seconds later.
However, three points from Leech helped make it 1-10 to 0-3 at half-time.
It was plain sailing from there to the end, with Leech adding four more points and Daniel Grehan kicking a wonder score.
Lee Brennan and Tommy McCaffrey doubled St Michael’s tally between them but this was a day the Enniskillen outfit will not remember fondly.
Meanwhile, Tyrone’s Holy Trinity claimed their second All-Ireland Vocational Schools SAFC title, exacting revenge on champions Gallen SC, Offaly, who beat them in last year’s semi-final.
Kieran McGeary and John Loughran took the scoring honours with 1-5 and 1-3, respectively, but the Cookstown lads dominated all over the pitch to secure victory 2-18 to 0-7.
