Meath win to secure semi-final clash with Cork
Those were the main talking points following the final round of regulation group fixtures, with semi-final match-ups revealed.
Holders Cork will face the Royal County, who edged out Laois for fourth spot, while Dublin will face Monaghan.
At Convoy, Meath beat hosts Donegal 4-6 to 0-8 to squeeze into that precious fourth position, finishing just a point clear of Laois.
At Naomh Mearnóg, Peter Clarke’s Dublin put last year’s beaten finalists Laois to the sword, running out 0-11 to 0-8 winners.
Sinead Aherne, Orlagh Egan and Amy McGuinness helped themselves to three points each while Olivia Leonard and Natalia Hyland grabbed a point each.
Laois, who trailed by 0-3 to 0-6 at half-time, tried hard throughout but were left disappointed as Mary Kirwan finished top scorer for the visitors with 0-3.
Elsewhere, Cork’s 2-10 to 0-11 victory over Tyrone in Killyclogher ensured a 100 per cent record so far this season for the League and All-Ireland champions. In Division 2, Mayo will play Kerry and Galway will take on Clare in the semi-finals, with Tipperary relegated to Division 3.
