Armagh convincingly saw off the challenge of Mayo in this National Hurling League 2B encounter in Crossmaglen on Sunday.

Declan Coulter top scored for the hosts with eight points while Cathal and David Carville, along with Paul Gaffney also impressed for the Orchard county.

Mayo had the opening two scores before Armagh took charge and led by six at the break.

The Connacht outfit had a late consolation goal from goalkeeper Donal O’Brien who fired home a 21-yard free. But it mattered little as Armagh finished in style with points from Martin Maguire, Conor Corvan and top marksman Coulter.
