Table-toppers Longford win five in-a-row

Longford registered their fifth league win in-a-row to consolidate their place at the top of the Division 3 table and are now virtually guaranteed promotion to Division 2.

With the advantage of the wind in the first-half at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Glenn Ryan’s side built up a commanding 0-9 to 0-3 lead.

It took a fine reaction save from the alert Antrim keeper Chris Kerr to keep out a fisted goal attempt from Donal McElligott just before half-time but the visitors suffered a setback in the opening minute of the second half when they were reduced to 14 players after wing forward Michael Armstrong was sent-off for a second yellow card.
