Kildare hit with second half blitz

Leinster champions Laois produced a devastating second half scoring blitz to leave neighbours Kildare rooted to the bottom of Division 1 in the Bord GáisEnergy Ladies National Football League.

Leading by 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time in Ballykelly, the visitors outscored Kildare 3-6 to 0-3 in a one-sided second half with Mary Kirwan, Olwyn Farrell and Mags McEvoy all goaling in the 3-13 to 0-8 rout.

The Lilywhites remain pointless from four matches while victory for Laois leaves them second in the table behind champions Cork, who defeated Meath 3-8 to 2-8 to maintain their perfect record this season.
