St Bridget’s power past Causeway

St Bridget’s Loughrea carried too much firepower for their Kerry opponents in Saturday’s entertaining All-Ireland Vocational Schools JAHC final at Bruff.

St Bridget’s power past Causeway

Loughrea led from the 12th minute when midfielder Jacques Chahin edged them ahead after Jamie Monaghan and Jack Goulding swapped points.

For the rest of the contest, Loughrea took command due to the midfield dominance of Éanna Burke and Chahin and with classy full-forward Brian Molloy impressive from placed balls they led 0-8 to 0-2 at the interval. A Jarlath Mannion goal in the 36th minute followed by two quick points pushed Loughrea 10 points clear, and there was no way back for Causeway despite the best efforts of Daniel O’Carroll, Paudie O’Connor and Philip Lucid.
