Foley points the way for Carlow

Carlow senior midfielder Darragh Foley turned in a man-of-the-match performance as they knocked Wicklow out of the Leinster U21FC for a second successive year under lights at Baltinglass last night.

Wicklow led twice in the first quarter after Brendan McCrea had drilled to the net but led by the influential Foley, Carlow battled back to lead 0-9 to 1-2 at the break.

Carlow had a second-half penalty saved but it mattered not as they tacked on late points to run out winners.
