Two-goal blast sees Borris through

A double goal blast either side of half-time put Borris VS into the Leinster Vocational Schools SAHC final after a surprise win over Coláiste Mhuire, Johnstown in Thomastown.

Nearing the end of the first half Kevin Sweeney pointed to drag Johntown back level at 0-6 to 1-3 but Borris poured forward and a point from Craig Wall, followed by a goal from Emmet Foley, took them 2-4 to 0-6 ahead at the break.

The Carlow side extended their lead with another goal in the 32nd minute through Jack Kavanagh. Michael Malone followed with a point, and while Borris were made fight all the way afterwards, they held out for a good win.
