McBrearty weighing up possible AFL career

Donegal’s Paddy McBrearty has refused to rule out accepting an AFL rookie contract. However, last year’s Tipperary minor star Michael Quinlivan is more circumspect about the possibility of any move DownUnder.

Both were called up to the Tadhg Kennelly-organised trial in Dublin last week with McBrearty suggesting “something might arise” from the trip.

“It’s the dream of any young lad to be a professional sportsman, be it soccer or Aussie Rules,” said the 18-year-old, who sits his Leaving Cert in June.
