Experienced Tralee stand firm

It was a battle between the competition specialists and newcomers in this Corn Uí Mhuirí quarter-final at Fitzgerald Stadium yesterday afternoon.

But, ultimately, it was the old order of Tralee CBS, chasing a 16th title, that prevailed after an engaging contest that unfolded in wretched weather conditions.

Rochestown College, back participating in the elite senior grade of Munster Colleges football this year for the first time in over half a century, brought strong credentials with them after topping Group A before Christmas. Yet despite mounting a highly-spirited revival after trailing by seven points in the early stages of the second half, they fell just short.
