Corbett links up with Setanta

LAR CORBETT yesterday visited Setanta Ó hAilpín and Nicholas Walsh at the new AFL club, the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

The 2010 Hurler of the Year is holidaying in Australia and met the former Cork star, who was recently picked up by GWS Giants coach Kevin Sheedy after his contract with Carlton elapsed.

Ex-Cavan midfielder Walsh joined the club last October as high performance (strength and conditioning coach).

Corbett had last week used Twitter to contact Ó hAilpín about the possibility of watching him train with the Giants. Tweeting his appreciation to the pair for giving him a tour of the club, Corbett tweeted: “Thanks for given us an insight on how a professional athlete works.”

Corbett returns from Australia at the end of the week.
