Glancy on fire for Leitrim

LEITRIM scored a fully deserved win over Roscommon in a lively FBD League game in Ballinamore where a James Glancy penalty proved the decisive score.

At half-time, Leitrim led by 0-5 to 1-1, after Ger Heneghan hit a Roscommon goal before the break to bring his side back into contention.

John Rogers levelled with a Roscommon free within four minutes of the restart while it was still level by the 39th minute after Glencar/Manor’s James Glancy and Rogers swapped points at opposite ends from frees.

Boosted by Glancy’s tucked away penalty, Leitrim finished much stronger, with Daniel Beck (play) and Glancy (free) adding a point each.
