Galvin goal seals win for NUIG

JOHN MAUGHAN’S NUIG made it three wins from three in their bid to reach the FBD final.

Ian Galvin found the net for the second week running. The Kerry native struck 12 minutes after half-time to see off the challenge of London in Ballyforan on Saturday as they followed up their wins over Sligo and Galway.

A brace of points from Fiachra Deasumhunaigh, along with points from Galvin, Stephen Gilmartin and a sublime Jason Doherty effort from a sideline saw the students dominate the opening half as they led 0-9 to 0-2 at the break.

London responded with points from Mark Gottsche, Sean Kelly and Eoin O’Neill but Galvin’s goal sealed the win.
