Crossmaglen’s fury at Saturday fixture

CROSSMAGLEN RANGERS are furious that their All-Ireland Club FC quarter-final clash with Munster champions Dr Crokes has been fixed for Saturday February 18 at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise (throw-in 2pm).

Rangers officials are adamant the match should have been arranged for the following day.

“We will probably have only half of our normal support now,” claims PRO Tom McKay. “I don’t think the fixtures planners have taken into account the fact that quite a number of people, at least many of those fortunate enough to be in jobs, still work on Saturdays.
