WATERFORD clubs could gain more access to their inter-county stars in the 2012 season due to new rules that were drafted at the county’s convention in December.

The issue of inter-county players lining out for their clubs during the season has become increasingly controversial in recent years due to the demands being placed by county managers.

In Waterford the number of dual players in the county and the round-robin system in existence at senior club championship level have further complicated the situation.
