Kingston earns UCD date with Dublin

LAOIS footballer Donie Kingston helped UCD to a four point victory over his native county in Crettyard yesterday, as the students booked a date with All-Ireland champions Dublin.

Points from Lorcan Smith and Kingston had UCD two points ahead after ten minutes. Laois eventually worked some good scores as Colm Kelly and Sean Ramsbottom got them back on level terms. Then a superb score from debutant Damien O’Connor just before the break gave Laois a slender 0-6 to 0-5.

The game was won early in the second half as Kingston got UCD up and running with a superb score, and that sparked a run of six unanswered points.
