Kiltormer role for Whelahan
Whelahan takes charge after a stint with Camross in Laois and will make the short trip from Birr into east Galway to train a Kiltormer side who won the club title in 1992.
Whelahan, who enjoyed a glittering club career, will be hoping to tap into recent underage success by Kiltormer as they bid to re-establish themselves as a powerhouse in Galway.
Kiltormer chairman Peter Campbell said: “We think Brian will bring a new freshness to the club and further develop our players. Maybe he can bring a bit of the Offaly style of hurling which proved so successful in his time as a player.”
