Kelly: Give Europe a say

FORMER GAA President, Sean Kelly believes the European county board should have a delegate on Central Council.

Kelly: Give Europe a say

Continental chiefs have submitted a motion to annual congress seeking a place on the GAA’s most powerful committee. And their calls have been backed by the Kerry MEP.

Mr Kelly reasoned: “Currently, Britain, New York and North America all have delegates, so it is only right and fair that Europe should be represented, given its close economic and cultural ties and the enormous growth in GAA on the Continent in recent years. There is huge potential to come from greater collaboration and appointing a delegate to the Council will strengthen relations.”
