However, the Fermanagh man admitted he has no problem with inter-county bosses being remunerated for their services providing it is all done above board.

Last April, GAA President Cooney announced he would be calling a major discussion forum on payments to managers within two months where Director General Páraic Duffy’s paper on the subject would be presented. He also described it as “a cancer running through our organisation”.
