WATERFORD club De La Salle have appointed former player, Derek McGrath, as senior hurling manager for 2012.

McGrath (36) was a member of the squad which won county honours in 2008 and last year. While this will be McGrath’s first foray into club management he has guided De La SalleCollege hurlers tosuccessive Dr Harty Cup (Munster SAHC Colleges) titles along withAll-Ireland glory.
