Tralee CBS dig deep to reach knockout stage
Now both Kerry sides go through, Clonmel High missing out on points difference.
Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne bossed most of the opening half, thanks to the midfield dominance of Dara Ó Sé and Eanna Ó Conchúir, while Maitiu Ó Flatharta and Padraig Óg Ó Sé, won most of the breaking ball as they raced 0-7 to 0-2 in front by the 22nd minute, Dara Ó Sé converting three frees.
Tralee had only two frees on the board from Niall Sheehy and Jack Savage.
But in the 29th minute, Tralee got the fillip they needed with a superb goal, set up by Niall Sheehy and clinically executed by Danny Carroll. Corca Dhuibhne led 0-8 to 1-4 at the interval, but three rapid Tralee points from Jake Moran, Sean Moloney and Danny Carroll pushed Tralee CBS two clear, only for the Dingle lads to level matters by the 40th minute, with points from Ó Caomhanaigh and Cathal Ó Bambaire.
In the 56th minute, Tralee’s star man Conor Jordan beat Ó Curráin for a goal from which Corcha Dhuibhne would not recover.
