Na Piarsaigh scoop club of the year gong
The Limerick club was named GAA Club of the Year for 2011 for this weekend’s Bord Gáis Energy Munster GAA Awards following their first ever win in the Limerick SHC and county titles at U14, U16, minor and the City Division Junior Hurling grades.
There was also a special award for Jerry Ring, originally from Millstreet in Cork but Secretary of the West Tipperary GAA Board for 29 years, who was given a Special Merit Award for 2011.
Other winners were Jill Horan, Tipperary as Camogie Player of the Year, Cork’s Deirdre O’Reilly who took the Footballer equivalent and Catriona Casey, also of Cork, who was named Handballer of the Year.
