Canty’s call for change

ALL-IRELAND winning Cork captain Graham Canty hascalled on the Cork County Board to explore new ideas in running their club championships, insisting the current format “does not work”.

Canty, who only played minor roles for the county in the 2010 and 2011 seasons due to injury believes clubs should get one chance and if defeated, should then be entered into a secondary competition.

“I would say you get one chance and maybe if you lose, you should go into a secondary competition,” he said.
