Dubs seen and herd as Sam down on the farm

THE curious case of the cow and Sam appears to have struck again.

A website yesterday published a photograph of Dublin footballers Denis Bastick and Eoghan O’Gara flanking a cow with its nose in the Sam Maguire Cup. It’s uncertain whether the cup in the picture is the actual Sam Maguire one or the replica, which is slightly smaller, but it’s sure to raise eyebrows in other counties. Dublin aren’t the first county to treat the prized possession in such a strange way. Last year, a photograph of a cow in Kerry appearing to eat out of the Sam Maguire Cup surfaced in a national newspaper.
