Do you know the GAA fan of the year?
Or do you know someone whose dedication to the cause, for club or county, makes you shake your head in wonder?
Well, we’re looking to honour that person. The Irish Examiner and the Munster Council of the GAA are looking to find the Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year. It may be someone who travels thousands of miles for big games — or someone who simply never misses a club match. These are the true grassroots of the GAA and we want to recognise them.
The Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year will be named early next month and he or she, together with their nominee, will get to share a table for 10 with guests of their choice at the Bord Gáis Energy Munster GAA Awards in Killarney on December 3.
This glittering, black-tie ceremony sees the cream of Munster GAA talent for 2011 get presented their awards — and for the first time, there is one for a supporter too.
Just nominate the person you think deserves the accolade and tell us in not more than 100 words why. The person nominating the supporter must be a member of a Munster GAA club. Supporters can’t nominate themselves. Check the Irish Examiner this week for details on how to enter all this week.
