Provincial replays set to be retained

CENTRAL COUNCIL are today expected to retain the facility of replays in provincial championship games from next year.

As things stand, the provision of replays applies to all championship fixtures from next season after a motion was successfully carried at last April’s Congress.

Both GAA president Christy Cooney and GAA Director General Páraic Duffy have said that is unworkable, with Cooney claiming it would lead to chaos with club fixtures.
