Mulvihill joins race for Kerry chairman

THERE will be a two-man race to succeed Jerome Conway as Kerry county board chairman following a surprise late nomination for the post yesterday.

Moyvane’s Johnny Mulvihill has launched an 11th hour bid for the post and the north Kerry man now goes head-to-head with current vice-chairman Patrick O’Sullivan for the prestigious role.

It was expected Dr Crokes club-man O’Sullivan would automatically assume the chair following Conway’s decision to end his four-year reign as county chairman.
