Star of the Sea turn on the style
Leading 2-3 to 2-0 at half-time, Erin McEveney pushed them four clear before Chloe Murphy’s excellent individual goal got Brendan’s back to within a point, but from there it was all Star of the Sea.
McEveney and her midfield partner Danielle Burke were excellent, the latter finishing with 2-4, including the last-minute goal to put the gloss on the victory.
The first-half was a closer affair, Katie O’Driscoll putting Brendan’s ahead with a goal inside 20 seconds. The Passage school responded well, however, with points from Burke and McEveney before Anointed Nwachakor put them ahead with a goal. While a green flag from Murphy kept Brendan’s in it, Star of the Sea were too strong in the second half.

FOUR goals from prolific full-forward Robert O’Connor helped Little Island to annex the F7 Allianz Sciath na Scol title.
As part of a potent front four, O’Connor was always dangerous when Little Island had the ball, profiting from some excellent build-up play from Jack Ford.
It was Ford who opened the scoring with a point, O’Connor and Sean O’Connell getting more before O’Connor began his goal spree in the 12th minute after a lovely Ford pass, getting a second in injury time with a deft finish.
That made it 2-3 to 0-0 at half-time and within a minute of the restart he had completed his hat-trick, his shot looping in after O’Connell’s good run from midfield.
Conor O’Sullivan got Star of the Sea off the mark but it was only a brief interruption to Little Island’s dominance, O’Connor and Kevin Cody adding more goals.
Scorers for Little Island: R O’Connor 4-1, S O’Connell 0-3, K Cody 1-0, J Ford 0-1.

AN EXTRA-TIME goal from Shonagh Nic Aodha helped cap an amazing comeback for Gaelcoil Uí Ríordáin in the GF3 final.
With two minutes of normal time remaining, Críost Rí led 4-3 to 2-3, but goals from Shonagh Nic Adoah and Daire Ní Chadhla pulled Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin level before a point by Eimear Ní Chadhla looked to have given them an unlikely win.
Niamh Foley was on hand to send the game to extra time for Críost Rí, but in the additional period the Coolroe school were stronger. Early on it looked as if Chríost Rí would win at their ease, goals from Vanessa Fitzgerald and Rachel Holland giving them a 2-3 to 1-0 half-time lead, cancelling out Eimear Ní Chadhla’s early goal for Gaelscoil.
A Sarah O’Connor goal for Chríost Rí early in the second half pushed them further clear and while Daire Ní Chadhla made it 3-3 to 2-3, Ilane Keegan cancelled that out. They looked home and dry, but it was not to be.
