Kerry ponder Fitzgerald Stadium double-headers

KERRY GAA chiefs are considering two Allianz League double-headers in Fitzgerald Stadium next season.

The Kingdom’s hurlers and footballers seldom share the same stage but county bosses are keen to promote the small ball code following their Christy Ring Cup and All-Ireland U21 B successes.

It is understood officials have sought permission for the hurling clash with Carlow to act as a curtain raiser for the footballers’ meeting with Ulster champions Donegal on Sunday, March 12 at the Killarney venue. They have also inked in the games a fortnight later for similar treatment with Down and Laois facing the hurlers and footballers.
