GAA Director General Páraic Duffy believes provincial councils have to get tougher on county boards to finish their championships in time.

While the future of the International Rules series is in peril it highlighted a serious fixture scheduling issue which deprived Kerry’s Darran O’Sullivan a chance of representing Ireland and made it difficult for others.

However, Duffy insists boards have to be kept in check after serious delays in county championships were experienced this year.
