Douglas turn on the power to reach final

DOUGLAS laid the foundation for their hard-earned win over Ballyagran in the opening five minutes of the second-half when they scored three points into a strong wind to add to their five-point interval advantage.

Douglas turn on the power to reach final

Katrina Mackey (three), Amanda O’Regan and Paula Mackey helped Douglas lead 0-7 to 0-2 at half time and, crucially, Mackey brought her tally to seven with a brace while Claire Shine also raised a white flag to stretch the margin to eight with 25 minutes remaining.

Some good work by Rosemary Rea led to an Anna Stack goal in the 38th minute though and that score galvanised the gritty Ballyagran cause as they cut the deficit to two. But the Douglas defence was outstanding with Alison Peate and Emma Kavanagh ensuring their progression to the final on November 19 against either Drom-Inch or Cashel.
