The Cork midfielder and 2010 young footballer-of-the-year didn’t believe he was good enough to make the 23-man squad for Australia.

“When I got the call to come for trials I said I’d have a good crack off it and I was delighted to make it because the competition for places was fierce,” said the Kanturk man.
