Canavan steps down as Errigal Ciarán manager
Tyrone’s six-time All Star and double All-Ireland winner had already informed his players he would not be returning for a fourth term in charge.
And Errigal’s finish came to an end at the weekend when they lost the Division One league semi-final by 0-12 to 0-9 to arch-rivals Carrickmore.
Under Canavan’s watch, Errigal were the county’s most consistent team, winning two Division One titles, but they failed in their primary objective of winning a championship title.
Carrickmore will meet either Dromore or Clonoe in the league final.
