LIMERICK football boss Maurice Horan insists he will not be rushing talismanic midfielder John Galvin back into action towards the end of next year’s Allianz League campaign and will allow him the time he needs to recover from cruciate ligament damage.

Galvin has been sidelined since last May when he suffered the injury in a challenge game against Down but Horan revealed the Croom man’s recent operation has been successful and he has began his rehabilitation from the injury.

“John is six or seven weeks into his rehab programme now at this stage and he’s working away at getting his knee,” he said.
