Collins’ second-half penalty the decider as Monaleen retain title

IT may not have been a footballing classic but few in Monaleen will complain after successfully defending their Limerick SFC crown at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.

Struggling in the first-half, highlighted by an alarming 28-minute scoreless spell, somehow Monaleen led at the break (0-5 to 0-3).

But they re-emerged a transformed team, putting Newcastle West to the sword with a devastating third quarter.
