MEATH are unlikely to object to the Leinster Competitions Control Committee’s (CCC) recommendation to push back their club champions’ provincial opener by three weeks.

On Wednesday the provincial council will vote on the proposal which has been put forward due to the impact Dublin’s run in both the senior football and hurling championships has had on running their competitions.

Sunday week’s winners in Navan — Dunshaughlin or Summerhill — had been scheduled to face the Dublin champions on October 23 but now face a possible November 13 date.
