Farrell: poor start cost us

DUBLIN boss Dessie Farrell believed the huge effort his side made to forge ahead in yesterday’s All-Ireland minor final may have been a factor in Tipperary overhauling them in a dramatic finale.

Farrell: poor start cost us

Farrell explained: “We’d a very bad start. To get that back and go in a couple of points ahead at half-time, we expended an awful lot of energy. Then late in the game there was a lot of weary limbs and tired bodies out there and a lot of bad decisions being taken. That’s just the way it goes.

“If one of those scores had gone over it might have been different. The mistake at the end (for the goal) was also quite costly but they’re all the little bits and pieces that make up this great game.
